International Orders: Import Duties, Taxes and Refused Delivery
All orders delivered outside Vietnam are shipped from Vietnam. Depending on the destination, a shipment may be subject to import duties, import VAT/GST or similar taxes, customs-clearance or brokerage fees, disbursement fees, storage fees, or other charges imposed by local authorities or the carrier.
Depending on the destination and applicable law, these charges may be payable by the recipient/importer directly to the relevant authority or carrier unless MAEL expressly shows them as included in the order total or collects them as required by law.
Final rates, thresholds, and assessments are generally determined by the relevant destination authority or carrier and may differ from any estimate. Customers should check local import requirements and inform the recipient of potential obligations.
If the recipient refuses delivery or does not pay applicable charges, the shipment may be delayed, returned, abandoned, or disposed of. Refusal or non-payment does not, by itself, create a right to cancel the order or receive a full refund. Any refund or reshipment will be handled under the accepted Order, Payment, Shipping, Returns & Refunds Terms and applicable law.
To the extent permitted by applicable law, MAEL may withhold a merchandise refund until the goods are returned to MAEL or until the customer provides evidence of return that applicable law treats as sufficient. MAEL may deduct only actual, reasonable, documented, and non-recoverable costs lawfully chargeable to the customer, including return shipping, duties or taxes charged to MAEL, customs or brokerage charges, storage, disposal, and carrier fees, and non-refundable outbound shipping only where legally permitted. MAEL may require payment of these costs before reshipment.
Nothing in this section limits any non-waivable consumer right or remedy, including where MAEL supplies incorrect, damaged, defective, or otherwise non-conforming goods, or where the refusal results from MAEL’s breach.
